Favorite Scenes - Almost Famous

Lester Bangs: Aw, man. You made friends with them. See, friendship is the booze they feed you. ‘Cause they want you to get drunk on feeling like you belong.

William Miller: Well, it was fun.

LB: That’s ‘cause they make you feel cool. And hey - I met you. You are not cool.

WM: I know. Even when I thought I was, I knew I wasn't.

LB: That's because we are uncool. And while women will always be a problem for us, most of the great art in the world is about that very problem. Good-looking people – they got no spine. Their art never lasts. Well, they get the girls, but we're smarter.

WM: Yeah, I can really see that now.

LB: Yeah, that’s what great art is about: Guilt and longing. You know, love disguised as sex, and sex disguised as love... and let's face it, you got a big head start.

WM: I'm glad you were home.

LB: I'm always home. I'm uncool.

WM: Me too.

LB: You’re doing great. The only true currency in this bankrupt world is what you share with someone else when you're uncool.

WM: I feel better.

LB: My advice to you. I know you think these guys are your friends. You wanna be a true friend to them? Be honest and unmerciful.

Here's 2 more pics from different scenes in the film:
Comments welcome. I'm speechless. (Yes, that's a cigarette)

This is Conan O'Brien's replacement?

Great pick and pics. The "only real currency" line is one I refer to often and goes in the Lawyer red-letter edition of words to live by. The only problem with AF is Kate Hudson, who is terrible in the role, despite her Oscar nom.

No clue that was Rainn. Fallon will be great, I think he was genius on Weekend Update.

great scene. great movie. unlike lawyer, i like kate hudson in this film, primarily because she only plays herself, and at heart she's a groupie. but the oscar nomination seems more and more ridiculous in hindsight.

I like Hudson here, too, and 2000 was a weak year so a nomination isn't out of the question (She was supposed to win, but was upset by Marcia Gay Harden in Pollock). McDormand was nominated, too, deservedly. By the way, priest, it's band-aid, not groupie.
