New England Patriots

The fix is in. After watching much of last night’s football game, it’s clear that the NFL with the referees want the New England Patriots to end up undefeated. The Baltimore Ravens were called on one defensive penalty after another on the last drive so that the precious Patriots didn’t get their uniforms (or their season) mussed. Watching the smash-mouth football the Ravens were playing was fun. But evidently whining to the referees the entire game pays off. The bastard-creating, America-hating Tom Brady bitched, moaned, and whimpered the entire game as if to say, “Don’t you know we’re the Patriots? You’re messing up my statistics.”

I am certainly no Ravens fan. How can you really root for a team that continues to field accused murderer Ray Lewis? But the Patriots have less class than anyone in recent sports history – less than pro-wrestler Shaquille and accused rapist Kobe. Their tendency to run up the score in the final minutes is shameless. If they were winning with class it would be one thing, but in terms of class, head coach Bill Belichick makes Barry Switzer look like Tom Landry. Congratulations on your season, Patriots. Why don’t you try to illegally videotape some more opposing teams’ signals. Is that how you knew the Eagles were going to run the screen every time in Super Bowl XXXIX? Seriously, congratulations.

I share your feelings about the Patriots. I watched the game last night as well, and that last drive was a joke.

The only reason I am happy they won is that is that it will be more fun for the Cowboys to beat them in the Super Bowl if they're undefeated.

As an aside, if you have to watch a game on the NFL Network, like I did last Thursday for Packers/Cowboys.....prepare to suffer. Gumbel is the worst play by play guy working today, and the chemistry between him and Chris Collinsworth is terrible. They don't have any audio of the crowd, so it sounds like they're calling the game from a hyperbolic chamber, and it takes away from the excitement of the game. Plus, you can't refere to Tony Romo as Rick Romo
