30 Rock - The Natural Order

A disappointing episode with missed opportunities. Liz and Tracy insist on being treated equally, but don't end up liking how that turns out. Jenna gets a pet gibbon, and Jack's mom visits from Florida. Liz's moment with the water cooler wasn't believable or funny - and dragged on far too long. 30 Rock has never had a whole scene reliant on flatulence humor until now. Jack's "twist" at the end could have been easily spotted by the most passive viewer. It's never good when the audience is that far ahead of the characters. However, I did like Tracy literally playing the race card and Tracy dressing like mid-80s Bill Cosby. And the best scene had Jack explaining to Liz how he treats women differently (by paying them less and being forced to have conversations with them to explain himself).

Agreed Dr. the flatulance jokes weren't all that funny. My frustration with the water cooler was that I had one in my last office and unless you pop the cap off they don't leak.

On a positive note I appreciated everyone recognizing the gibbon as a gibbon.

As smart as she is, Liz would have at the very least taken the old water jug off before trying to put on the new one. A pretty good set up was completely wasted.

Finally watched this - not sure why Fey couldn't tell the water scene was too long or that the gibbon was a bridge too far and not funny. Plus, equating basic chivalry with pampering a primadonna wasn't enough to warrant the 'equal off'.
