Biggest snub for me is Inception's editing. David O. Russell's direction was fairly uninteresting - would have given that slot to Nolan. I can see why Kunis missed, but how did Black Swan's screenplay? Andrew Garfield was much better than both Renner and Ruffalo. After all the great work Ruffalo done the past decade, he gets his first nomination for one of his least interesting performances.

I think Russell deserved it more than the Coens - to me they are the ones that should've been bumped for Nolan. My favorite nomination in the bunch is for John Hawkes in Winter's Bone - glad he got recognized for this film and his great supporting work over the years (Miami Vice, American Gangster, Eastbound and Down, etc). That whole supporting actor category is filled with great ones.

Just now getting into Deadwood right now and Hawkes is excellent in that.

The Coens staged the shootouts pretty well - with the long range shots from the cliffs. But it's more of a screenplay movie. I would put Nolan third behind Fincher and Aronofsky and I could easily argue that Aronofsky is more important to Black Swan than Fincher is to The Social Network.

Renner is great in the town, admittedly, and i didn't see ruffalo, but timberlake should be in over at least renner, and (from what you're saying) ruffalo in my opinion. that he seduces you while he sickens you is necessary for the film to work on every level, and he absolutely nails it. should have been nominated. and harry potter should be up for make-up.
