Song of the Day- Hey Ya (Obadiah Parker)

My favorite song of the decade is Andre 3000's original, but Obadiah Parker's slowed-down, de-funked, acoustic version highlights the killer-sad lyrics and holds up surprisingly well. It's the second best cover of a hip-hop song after Dynamite Hack's Boyz in the Hood.

Great find, nice cover. Song of the decade? Not sure. I'd be curious what your top 10 looks like.

Apparantly you have not heard Ray Lamontagne's cover of Crazy.

a. i have not heard said cover of crazy
b. i'm not certain that crazy qualifies as hip-hop

although, c. i will acknowledge that crazy is the other song in the running for best song of the decade.

I feel that Crazy is roughly within the same genre as Hey Ya...I will also say that while Ray Lamontagne tries to give Crazy his Obadiah treatment it doesn't hold up as well and I tire quickly of Ray's voice.

Lyrics are much better than I realized.
