News - The Darjeeling Limited

.

Wes Anderson (Bottle Rocket, Rushmore, Royal Tennenbaums, The Life Aquatic) has written and directed a new movie, The Darjeeling Limited, starring long time collaborators Owen Wilson and Jason Schwarzman, as well as the most overrated actor in the universe, Adrien Brody.
Above is a picture from the set.

do you know if owen took a break from splitting up families long enough to co-write here? maybe it's wishful thinking, but i think it's his voice that made the first three anderson films so great (rushmore being my fav) and what was lacking in The Life Aquatic. If you listen to the owen/vaughn commentary on wedding crashers, you realize how many of the great lines they added (it's the kind of commentary that more than anything else makes you want to hang out with those two guys all the time).

Nope. He was too busy putting a "Band-Aid" to good use (Almost Famous referenc) to co-write this one. I agree totally that it is the collaboration of the 2 that resulted in the BR, Rushmore and RT greatness. Anything Wes does is compulsory though, just because. His Amex commercial is greatness also: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=spCknVcaSHg

Totally agree with you, priest. Life Aquatic was an erratic, undisciplined mess. Cowriter Noah Baumbach either couldn't or wouldn't stand up to Wes's pretentious and overly quirky tendencies. Owen gave the first three "heart".

The credited co-writers are Jason Schwartzman and Roman Coppola (son of Francis). Color me skeptical.
