Various and Sundry (Loaded Edition)

1. Analysis of Oliver Stone's W. script here; film starts shooting soon starring Josh Brolin as George W. Bush and Elizabeth Banks (girl from 40 Year Old Virgin) as Laura.

2. Sacha Baron Cohen is filming Bruno. He apparently, incredibly, tricked Ben Affleck into doing an interview and appeared at the Wichita, KS airport, later appearing in chains at an Easter production at a church. Go here to watch video from the airport and other info.

3. Cool Dark Knight viral game.

4. Daniel Day-Lewis plus Peter Weir might make Doctor faint. Apparently that is the case, as DDL is apparently considering a remake of Werner Herzog's Fitzcarraldo. Read about it here.

5. Great write-up for the 2 disc DVD of There Will Be Blood (coming next Tuesday). This review does a good job of explaining why it was the best film of last year and thoroughly discusses all of the DVD extras.

The DDL- Peter Weir thing has gotta be an April Fool's joke. The shoot on the original Fitzcarraldo was extraordinarily difficult, worthy of its own (pretty good) documentary: Burden of Dreams. Weir has never done a remake.

I hope I'm wrong, but the W movie looks like a disaster and a quick-killer to Brolin's resurgent career. Though, Nixon is Stone's last great film.
